Installation Guide
Stream your transformation live
Capture your Tx Studio output window with OBS Studio or SplitCam, turn it into a virtual camera, and select it inside any video app — WhatsApp, Telegram, Zoom, Skype, Facebook and more.
Step 1
Download the capture software
Pick one. OBS Studio is free and powerful; SplitCam is lighter and very beginner-friendly.
Install the app, then come back here and open your Tx Studio output window from the Live Cam page.
Step 2
Open the output preview window
On the Live Cam page, start a transformation and click the preview to pop the clean output into a new window.
Windows
The output opens as its own window. Keep it visible (it can sit behind other windows — Window Capture still grabs it). Don't minimise it.
macOS
Use Picture-in-Picture mode, or keep the output window on a second Space. Window Capture works the same — just leave the window open and unminimised.
Step 3a
Set it up in OBS Studio
Use a Window Capture source, then start the virtual camera.
- 1
Add a Window Capture source
In the Sources panel click + → Window Capture (macOS: macOS Screen Capture → Window). - 2
Select the Tx Studio output window
In the Window dropdown choose the Tx Studio / Stream Output window. The clean transformed video appears on the canvas. - 3
Crop & fit
Drag the red handles or press Alt (⌥ on Mac) while dragging to crop edges so only the video fills the frame. - 4
Start Virtual Camera
In the Controls panel click Start Virtual Camera. OBS now broadcasts as a camera named “OBS Virtual Camera”.
Step 3b
Set it up in SplitCam
SplitCam is automatically a virtual camera — just add the window as a media layer.
- 1
Add a media layer
Click the + under the preview → Screen / Window. - 2
Choose Window capture
Select Window and pick the Tx Studio output window from the list. - 3
Resize to fill
Drag the layer corners so the video fills the SplitCam preview edge to edge. - 4
It's already a camera
SplitCam exposes “SplitCam Video Driver” as a webcam automatically — no extra button to press.
Step 4
Select the virtual camera in your app
In any video app, open camera settings and choose “OBS Virtual Camera” or “SplitCam Video Driver”.
Desktop app → video call → Settings → Camera
Telegram
Desktop → call → ⚙ Settings → Camera source
Zoom
Settings → Video → Camera dropdown
Skype
Settings → Audio & Video → Camera
Facebook / Messenger
Messenger Rooms / Live → Camera select
Google Meet / Teams
Settings → Video → choose virtual cam
Tip: fully quit and reopen the video app if the virtual camera doesn't show up the first time.
